Boilerplate FOIL Request
My Working List of FOIL contacts
The foundation of a democratic society is the public’s right to know what their government is doing. Public business must be performed in an open and public manner so citizens can fairly evaluate the performance of public officials and the decisions they make. For that reason, New York has a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL). Other states have similar laws. The Federal government has the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Not surprisingly public officials often resist such transparency and in some cases have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the sunlight. It can be a battle. A war. A FOIL War.

City School District of New Rochelle:Mr. Raymond, I have not received a reply to my FOIL request for "invoices, payments to other school districts 7/1/21-6/30/22" dated 8/24/22 within 5 business days either producing the records or requesting additional time. The failure to reply in a timely manner constitutes a constructive denial of my FOIL request. I hereby appeal the denial of my request. Under NYS Law you have 10 days to decide my appeal and if granted produce the records.
