Those so-called media outlets tend to favor elected officials from the anointed political party in Westchester (the Democratic party). Just look at the George Latimer/Susan Kettner extramarital affair. News 12, Journal News, and company turned a blind eye towards the affair (the scandal should have surfaced as major news in George Latimer's County Executive race that year). The only place I heard about the affair was on Talk of the Sound. By the way, on Thanksgiving day that election year, I saw George and Susan unabashedly buying groceries together at Stop and Shop on Palmer Avenue. I also find that in large part, these media outlets excel at reporting ribbon-cutting events, but fall flat on investigative reporting. The news that Mayor Bramson is facing corruption charges with possible removal from office, fines, and incarceration should command the newspaper headlines and the lead story on News 12, but the anointed political party would have it otherwise.
Is this how some of the money laundering business are able to stay in business here? Like that pet store on North Ave which is clearly a front for money laundering.
The only thing I can imagine is some fear of retribution by local media. But what are they afraid of? It’s not like they’ve got some exclusive access? Is it merely that they want to be in the popular group?
